I never knew that SanSal was originally intended to GUIDE missles (Guided Missile Control Facility #2 (GMCF #2), since it was believed that the Cape (GMCF #1) could not penetrate the exhaust plume of the engines. Turns out that they were mistaken, and SanSal became Range Safety only.

L: Transport (Goat Boat?) R:LST supply ship. The Goat Boat docked at Cockburn Town. The LST (Landing Ship Tank) pulled up on the beach by Carterville that was dredged a bit by the Corps of Engineers. Vehicles and cargo were offloaded via the clamshell doors in the bow. This one is the Morgan County. There are some construction photos at the Canaveral AS Museum that I will obtain this fall.
